I am delighted to be able to offer singing lessons for people who suffer with various health conditions.

Singing is a wonderful hobby and therapy. It can really improve your life in so many ways. It has been proven to help psychologically and physically, due to the hormones released when we sing, it is certain to give us that ‘feel good factor’ that we all need in our lives.

I am already medically trained and very experienced within the ‘exercise and fitness world’.  I ran my own physio style Gym and within that set up, I was honoured to offer exercise/physiotherapy classes to people who had many health issues such as; Parkinson’s Disease, Strokes, and problems with Mental Health to name a few, for over 12 years before changing career and training to be a Vocal Coach. It has always been a desire in my heart to combine all of my qualifications and be able to offer my experience and medical knowledge within my singing business.

The training to become a ‘Sing 4 Health Practitioner’ has given me the ability to now offer 1:1 singing lessons and/or classes to clients who may suffer with the following health conditions:

  • Parkinson’s, Strokes, lung disorders, mental health issues; including anxiety, depression, learning disability etc..

If you would like to know more about what my lessons can do for you personally, I would love to hear from you.

As a ‘Sing4Health Practitioner’ I also lead a unique ‘Singing & Friendship’ Class for anyone who loves to sing, but due to medical conditions their health inhibits singing. We encourage anyone with any health issues such as: Parkinson’s, Neurological issues, depression, anxiety and lung conditions for example, to just come along and enjoy singing along with the group in any way that they can. Some people find that their condition makes them breathless or not able to project  their voice. In the security and comfort of this class you are able to just ‘let go’ and sing for as long or as little as you can! You do not have to be able to sing in anyway but just experience joy and friendship from being part of this friendly and supportive group.  It is proven medically that ‘singing’ will provide so many health benefits. Here are a few:

Singing makes you feel better due to hormones released

Singing enhances and improves lung function

Singing Improves your Cardio Vascular system

Singing helps you to beat stress and helps you to relax

Singing boosts confidence and allows you to express yourself

Singing can help you with pain relief

Singing in a group builds a sense of community

We also encourage moving and dancing in whichever way suits you personally.

The ‘Sing4Health Singing and Friendship Group’ runs every Wednesday at 10.30am – 12pm at Arreton Community Hall
