As a choir, we know this… SING to make your soul happy!
Melodic Choir are a friendly group of people who love to sing together- and have fun in the process! Meanwhile, we always aim to ascertain the highest standard possible for all performances.
One of our highlights was to sing with the renowned ‘Tenors Unlimited’ at Medina Theatre, where we were invited to support them from a number of other choirs. We have so many wonderful memories including this year going back to a Recording Studio and recording our arrangement of ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ We used this promotional video for our Queen and Stevie Wonder concert this July 2024.
We are proud that our concerts have raised over £40,000 for Isle of Wight charities over the last eleven years. These include: Sight for Wight, Parkinson’s Disease Society, M.S. Society, Daisy Chain IOW, and Ability Dogs 4 Young People to name a few. We have also supported the Wight Brainy Bunch and Friends of St Mary’s Hospital, (twice) which enabled them to buy new equipment for our Hospital.
Our repertoire includes Musicals, Motown, Legendary Singers and Bands including Stevie Wonder and Queen and many other songs from varying genres. Over the 11 years that we have been performing, it is our honour to have raised so much money for various Island Charities and it is our honour to still support such Island charities.
If you like to sing, then why not come and join us? Give it a try! New members are always welcome and no experience is necessary. Also NO AUDITION NEEDED!
We do not use Music script either but learn by recorded videos devised for you.
We meet at the Whippingham Community Hall in Whippingham (near East Cowes) on Thursdays: 6.30pm-8.30pm.
We also have enjoyable social evenings (usually every 5/6 weeks), which is an ideal opportunity to get to know your fellow choir members and make new friends.

“This very mixed-age group choir welcomed me some years ago. Having somehow slid into the older age bracket and lost the ability to do many things, it is wonderful to still be able to sing and in a place where we are all seen as equal.
But Melodic choir is so much more than just a singing group. The singing, the friendship, the care, has seen me through some tough times, including the loss of my husband. And when we all sing together amongst friends, in that moment, none of us have a care in the world.
